Canaan Webster continues the story of Sherwood Baptist Church, which began serving Webster Groves in 1959. For more than sixty years, this congregation has worshiped, served, and invested in this community — and that story isn’t over.
Today, our church family is filled with young children and young families worshiping alongside founding members who have loved this neighborhood for generations. As a campus of Canaan Baptist Church, we share one mission: connecting people to God, people, and purpose. We are grateful for the faithfulness of those who came before us, and we are excited about what God is continuing to do through Canaan Webster.

You don’t have to know what to do before you arrive.

On-site parking, one clearly marked main entrance. Our team will meet you, help check in your children, and answer questions.
Congregational singing, prayer, and live biblical preaching centered on Jesus. Come dressed comfortably - you’ll see everything from suits to t-shirts.

After three worship songs, children are dismissed to Kids Connection
The whole service runs about 70 minutes. Stick around and say hi, or head straight out — no pressure either way.

That’s it.
Children remain with their families for the first three worship songs before being dismissed to their own environments. We value families worshiping together, which means the room may occasionally be a little louder - and we’re glad. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me,” and children are part of the church family here.

Safe, joyful, and centered on Jesus.
Canaan Kids serves children from six weeks through 5th grade.
Children worship with their families during the opening portion of the service, then head to age-appropriate environments designed to help them know and follow Jesus.
First-time registration takes a few minutes because we take the safety of every child seriously. You can register when you arrive - or save time by telling us about your family before Sunday, and our team will have your profile ready when you walk in.

Our Webster campus meets every Sunday at 10:30am at 9220 Big Bend Blvd in Webster Groves, MO 63119. The service runs about 70 minutes. Come a few minutes early for free coffee and donuts, and someone from our team will help you find your way.

You can expect contemporary worship music, practical teaching from the Bible, and unhurried moments to reflect and pray. It is a family friendly room, so you will see all ages worshiping together. If it is your first Sunday, stop by Guest Central and we would love to say hello.

Whatever makes you feel comfortable. On any given Sunday you will see everything from suits to T-shirts and shorts. There is no dress code here, so come as you are.

Yes. Canaan Kids meets during the 10:30am service, with age appropriate environments where kids can laugh, play, and grow while discovering how much God loves them. It is safe and secure, and our team will walk you through check in on your first visit.

Not at all. You are welcome to simply show up. If you would like us to know you are coming, you can fill out a Connect Card at canaanstl.org/connect, but it is never required.

Yes. The building has a wheelchair accessible entrance and a wheelchair accessible restroom. If you need help getting in or finding a seat, our team at Guest Central is glad to help.

The easiest first step is to swing by Guest Central in the lobby before or after a service and introduce yourself. From there you can explore groups, baptism, volunteering, and membership at canaanstl.org/nextsteps.

We have a dedicated parking lot right next to the building, plenty of room for a full Sunday, no overflow parking needed.
