The Story Behind the World We Live In
Most of us sense that something isn’t quite right and at some point, we all ask the same questions:
Why does the world feel broken?
Why do I feel disconnected?
Is there more to life than this?
The Bible tells a simple, coherent story that helps explain why things are the way they are and how God invites us into something better.
1. God’s Original Design
God created the world with purpose and goodness.
He designed people for a relationship with Him marked by peace, meaning, and wholeness.
This is the life we were created to live.
2. A World Marked by Brokenness
But that’s not what we experience every day.
We see broken relationships, injustice, pain, and loss. We feel guilt, shame, and emptiness.
The Bible calls this sin—choosing our own way instead of trusting God.
Brokenness affects all of us, and no matter how hard we try to fix it—through success, relationships, or self-improvement—it never fully heals what’s broken.
3. God’s Response: Jesus
God didn’t leave us in brokenness.
Jesus entered our world, lived the life we couldn’t live, and gave His life on the cross to deal with sin once and for all.
He rose from the dead, proving that brokenness doesn’t have the final word.
Through Jesus, forgiveness is real.
Freedom is possible.
New life begins.
4. Your Next Step
The Bible invites us to respond by turning from going our own way and placing our trust in Jesus as Savior and Leader.
Following Jesus doesn’t mean life becomes perfect.
It means life finally begins to make sense.
