At Canaan, we hold to a theological truth called “progressive sanctification.” What this means is that once we’re justified or born again, we begin a process of being transformed into the image of Christ – the process is sanctification. But this sanctification doesn’t happen all at once, but happens over the period of the rest of your life.
There are many areas where we see our growth, or progress in our walk with Jesus. Such areas include our understanding of the Bible, in our service to the Lord and church, in our prayer life, etc. But another area – one to which Jesus and the New Testament speaks to more than all the others – is that of giving and our progress in the sanctification of our view of money.
